Gender in performing arts

How is gender balance in the performing arts for children and adolescents? How are women and men presented on stage and how does gender diversity reflect what is presented to the children and adolescents of the country? Can the performing arts be attitude-creating or behavioral? Can art contribute to changing the structures that allow bias, discrimination and harassment to live on in art and culture? And should art be a tool for consciousness, attitudes and behavior?

At this seminar we will investigate the possibilities and assignments of stage art.

Scenekunstbruket and Kultutanken – The Cultural rucksack meet children and young people throughout the country, year-round; in schools and at commercial cultural arenas. Do we have a special responsibility for what is presented to the public? With us we have the association Balansekunst, which works for an equal and diverse music and cultural life.
