Showbox is honored to show the European premiere of Rising Tide, from the innovative Dutch dance company Arch 8, known for creating joyful, interactive performances for young audiences – acrobatic dance for kids and grown-ups who can’t sit still.
Rising Tide is a dynamic dance performance about our current world. It examines rising temperatures, sea levels, and the extinction of animal species. The performers use poetry, play, partnering and live music to weave a world where we fall in love with nature, mourn its loss, and come to realize that our activism and engagement can turn the tide for the better. Rising Tide invites audiences aboard for an unforgettable journey of discovery.
Company choreographer Erik Kaiel, creates unorthodox, acrobatic dance for kids and grown-ups who can’t sit still, specializing in joyful and engaging interactive performances. Arch 8 received People’s Choice Vicor Award at IPAY Montreal in 2016 for their production of Tetris.
