Amanda is looking forward to becoming the buddy to a small first grader after the summer break. But first Adam, the boy she is madly in love with, humiliates her in front of the whole school. Then her small buddy turns out to be Lars, a boy as old as her with Down’s syndrome, and Amanda feels everything falling apart. She has to decide what is most important: For the cool people to like her, or is it to like herself.
Iben Akerlie is an educator and actor. She debuted with the children’s book Lars is LOL in 2016, and the book immediately became a huge success. She had great reviews by both professionals and children. The book won the ARK Children’s Book Prize in 2016. Now Teatret vårt, in collaboration with the Kultursekken in Møre og Romsdal, has made a performance of the book, and we look forward to showing it on Showbox.
