Everyone talks about participation in art – but what is it in practice?

For seventeen years, Rom for Dans has created dance art in which children, young people and adults participate. In this seminar, we want to share how we work with participation and what the term means to us, in theory and practice.

The College of Dance Art offers a bachelor’s education with a special focus on art for children and young people. How does this education prepare students to work in art projects in which children and young people participate? Students and teachers from the college participate in the seminar and share experiences and perspectives.

The seminar will offer a number of artistic elements, as well as presentations from some of Rom for Dans’ partners in teacher education (Kristine Høeg Karlsen and Gunhild Brænne Bjørnstad / Østfold University College), The Cultural Schoolbag (Johannes Hafnor / DKS Viken), the art field (Venke Sortland / Landing) and research (Gunn Engelsrud / Høgskulen på Vestlandet).
